  • Undertaking Plant Training (such as NPORS)

  • Assisting with Site Inspections

  • Identifying and determine ways to eliminate potential hazards/risks on site

  • Toolbox Talks

Experience:

  • A1 award or equivalent

  • PTTLS or equivalent – training can be given

  • NEBOSH – training can be given

  • Plant Experience

Skills

  • Possess a positive and pro-active approach to working in a team environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

  • IT Literate.

  • Full UK Driving licence.

CONTRACTS MANAGER

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our talented team at Daniel Charles Construction Limited, a privately-owned business based in Lincoln with a reputation for delivering quality Civil Engineering projects within Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas undertaking a range of interesting and diverse projects.

 

We have recently been successful in securing numerous projects and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in civil engineering, namely Roads & Sewers.

 

Our Contracts Managers are responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of projects across various sectors. Schemes are varied both in size and complexity but typically consists of roads, sewers and groundworks on housing developments. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring our projects are completed on time, on budget and to the highest standard.

  • Control all aspects of programmes ensuring systems, policies and procedures are fully adhered to.

  • Ensure strict compliance with legislation and our internal policies and procedures, particularly relating to Health & Safety, environmental and quality control.

  • Managing the project lifecycle, delivery through to completion and handover.

  • Managing, planning, reporting, forecasting and implementing mitigation plan as appropriate.

  • Driving performance in Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental.

  • Overseeing all construction work in the field including the management of our construction partners and suppliers to ensure compliance with project build requirements and ensuring an appropriate level of quality assurance.

  • Positively develop and manage strong Customer relations.

  • Working with Local Councils and Authorities to give high level of confidence that our build programme will minimise disruption whilst keeping the public safe.

  • Building and developing a high performing team, including recruitment, induction, training and development, performance managements, engagement and communication.

Candidate Specification

  • Previous experience of managing civil engineering and building contracts.

  • Experience in the supervision of multiple projects including civils and earthworks.

  • Experience in all aspects of project controls and planning.

  • Knowledge of NEC4 contracts or similar.

  • Experience of building strong relationships with clients, employees, contract partner, Local Councils & Authorities.

  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Full driving licence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our talented team at Len Kirk.  We are a fast-growing business based in the south of Lincoln with a reputation for supplying quality aggregate and haulage services within Lincolnshire and surrounding areas.

 

We are looking for an Apprentice Administrator to join our team.

Ideally a dynamic and high motivated individual with enthusiasm and drive, whilst also remaining professional, calm and polite.

This role is customer focused, you will be the first point of contact for customers who call or come into our office.

Apprentice Administrator duties:

  • Answer the telephone

  • Take sales orders / Enquires

  • Enter daily driver tickets

  • Other general office duties

    • such as incoming post, typing, filing

  • Assist /cover of the weighbridge (training will be given)

 

Apprentice Administrator requirements:

  • Computer literacy

  • Ability to work as part of a team

Finance Apprentice

This is a varied role and would be appropriate for an individual with no prior experience in finance department. We would look to put the individual through their AAT apprenticeship.

 

The role

  • Matching purchase orders, delivery notes and purchase invoices

  • Accurately processing purchase invoices onto our accounting system

  • Liaising with other departments within the company and external suppliers to resolve any queries

  • Working to meet deadlines in accordance with our month end procedures

  • Reconciling supplier statements

  • Filing, both electronically and manually

  • Managing efficiently the accounts inbox

  • Assisting with the annual audit

 

 

Key Skills

  • Have a positive working attitude

  • To be able to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • IT skills including MS package including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, both one to one and in a group setting

  • Have an excellent attention to detail
