Estimator
The Role
Office based, 5 days a week, working in Dunholme, Lincoln.
The candidate must have road & sewer experience / background with knowledge of aspects of groundworks to DPC on new build developments and building work.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate is organised, can multi-task, has attention to detail, confident with MS Office tools and have good communication skills
Ability to work alone but can liaise with different members of staff and various suppliers, use of conquest estimating software would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Handling multiple road and sewer projects including oversites and building works as required up to £2m, be able to understand construction drawings to take off quantities, utilising specialist estimating software packages (Conquest). Having the ability and experience to work independently to produce accurate and competitive tenders

Appraising tender documents, preparing sub-contract and material enquiries

Producing bills of quantities
-
Risk and value management
-
Preparation of budgets, estimates and cost plans
-
Internal Tender adjudications and external client presentations.

Have a good understanding of current CDM 2015 Health and Safety requirements, modern methods of construction and contractual awareness.
Experience
The ideal candidate with have experience in;

Highly organised and commercially astute

Working in the Construction / Civil Engineering Industry

Fully conversant with Conquest Estimating
-
Working experience of presenting technical and complex information to an adjudication panel

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
-
Excellent attention to detail
-
First rate communication skills both written and verbal

Minimum 5 years’ experience

Yard Operative
There are no qualifications needed for this role, as full training will be given.
Responsibilities include but not limited to

Record Keeping

Supporting the Yard Manager

Ensuring correct equipment is delivered to site

Ensuring all the equipment is fully serviced, stacked neatly and ready to be put onto site

Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment, within the yard

Load and unload vehicles with the correct equipment. Heavy lifting involved

Helping keep yard tidy

Understanding and co-operation in all Health & Safety matters

Machine Operators must hold valid CPCS/NPORS card. Groundworkers must hold a valid CSCS Card.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and manage multiple projects/contracts, being fully aware of time, cost and specification requirements to achieve the desired result by the planned completion date

Desirable Experience & Skills:

Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities

Relevant management qualifications, such as SMSTS, are preferred but not essential
